France strongly condemns the September 16th attack by Israeli settlers on a primary school and its teaching staff in al-Muarajat, in the West Bank. This school, which is supported by France and its European partners, aims to facilitate access to education for particularly vulnerable populations.
France calls on the Israeli authorities to put a stop to these actions, to immediately take the necessary steps to protect the Palestinian population in the Occupied Territories, and to ensure that their right to education is respected.
This attack further fuels the climate of instability and the cycle of violence throughout the West Bank, undermining political prospects for a two-state solution. Against this backdrop, France reiterates that settlement activity, which is contrary to international law, must end immediately.
