Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, Minister of State for Development and International Partnerships, is attending today's high-level Caribbean Community (CARICOM) meeting in Jamaica, which is seeking an inter-Haitian agreement that will help lead to a political solution to the deep crisis in that country.
At this meeting, she will emphasize the importance of combating armed criminal groups that are terrorizing the population and undermining State authority, as well as the forces that support them.
France supports the swift deployment of the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti in order to restore security and create conditions that are favorable to the holding of free, democratic and secure elections.
Together with our international partners, we call on Haitian political stakeholders to reach an agreement that paves the way to such elections.
