Mme Catherine Colonna, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, spoke today to Ms Naledi Pandor, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, on the sidelines of the G20 meeting in Bali.
The ministers spoke about Russia's aggression against Ukraine and its consequences for the multilateral order.
Their discussions also focused on the fight against terrorism in northern Mozambique and the commitment of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) in this regard.
Finally, Mme Colonna and Ms Pandor discussed the strengthening of our bilateral partnership in several key areas:
- health, with France's continued support for the development of messenger RNA vaccine production capabilities in South Africa;
- energy and the climate, in the framework of the Just Energy Transition Partnership in which France is taking part;
- the economy, with the announcement of ?3 billion of new investment in South Africa by French businesses.
