Israel/Palestinian Territories - Injured Palestinian children taken in by French hospitals (16 Jan. 2025)

Published: Fri Jan 17 2025

France continues its efforts to assist civilian populations in the Gaza Strip. Yesterday, it took part in a coordinated medical evacuation operation alongside the European Union and the World Health Organization, enabling 12 Palestinian patients to leave Gaza. Six of them were welcomed in France.

Once they arrived in Paris, these six children and the 16 family members accompanying them were cared for by the Crisis and Support Center of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, along with the Ministry of Health. Since the start of 2024, a total of 23 Palestinian children have received treatment in French hospitals.

France expresses its gratitude to all its UN, European and international partners who made these evacuations possible.

France calls for the immediate reopening of all Gaza crossing points and for Israel to facilitate the operations of international organizations and humanitarian agencies, in line with international law and the rulings of the International Court of Justice.
