Q: Reuters and AFP have reported that the American envoy to Iran had come to Paris for a meeting with his French, British and German counterparts. Can the Ministry confirm that information? And if so, would it be possible to know when that meeting will take place?
A : We have indeed held consultations today with our E3 partners and the United States, as we have with other participants in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA), at a critical time given the four-month suspension of negotiations on the U.S. and Iran's return to the JCPoA at Iran's request.
As we have said repeatedly, France, its E3 partners, its other JCPoA partners and the United States are prepared to return immediately to the Vienna negotiations and to resume them where they left off last June, in order to swiftly conclude an agreement on Iran's return to its commitments and the United States' return to the JCPoA. In the meantime, it is urgent and crucial for Iran to end the activities of unprecedented gravity that it is conducting in violation of the JCPoA and to immediately resume full-fledged cooperation with the IAEA.
