Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna spoke by telephone yesterday with Australia's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Penny Wong.
Following on from the conversation between President Emmanuel Macron and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on May 26, the two ministers expressed their wish to get to work immediately on rebuilding our bilateral relationship by moving forward on an ambitious roadmap based on trust between our two countries.
The two ministers also emphasized France and Australia's shared values and similar views on the situation in Ukraine, the challenges facing the Indo-Pacific region and responses to the climate emergency. They stressed the importance of strengthening the partnership between our two countries in the Pacific.
