Q: This morning, Iran accused the United States of having made unacceptable proposals in the negotiations in Vienna and yesterday, Russia insisted that its demands regarding the impact of European and American sanctions be taken into account in the final version. What is your reaction to these most recent developments and do you fear that an agreement is becoming a more remote possibility?
A: We are very close to reaching an agreement however the window of opportunity is closing. It is essential that it be finalized while there is still time, in particular before the program's advances deprive the JCPoA of its non-proliferation benefits. We are concerned about the impact of additional delays on our chances of reaching a conclusion. With our E3 partners, we are calling on all other parties to adopt a responsible approach and to make the necessary decisions so this agreement can be finalized.
