NPCC AND COLLEGE OF POLICINGS RACE ACTION PLAN

As the public's voice in policing, Police and Crime Commissioners recognise the critical importance of improving confidence and trust in policing amongst all of our communities - and in particular Black communities, where we know confidence is low. That is why today, we welcome the fresh energy that is now being invested by Chief Constables into a commitment to tackle the disparities faced by Black people in policing and criminal justice.

Revised sentencing guidelines for domestic, non-domestic and aggravated burglary offences in England and Wales, which come into effect on 1 July 2022, were published yesterday by the Sentencing Council following consultation.

Child sexual offences sentencing guidelines published

Revised sentencing guidelines that clarify how courts in England and Wales should sentence offenders convicted of arranging or facilitating sexual offences against a child were published today by the Sentencing Council following consultation.

CCRC refers 60th Post Office case for Appeal

The Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) has referred a further Post Office case to the Crown Court, taking the total of Horizon cases sent for an appeal by the CCRC to 60.

Innovation in general practice and regulation

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) and Yorkshire & Humber Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) have published findings from their research into how GP practices use innovative methods to address local health inequalities. The work will inform CQC's developing regulatory approach so that it can better recognise and encourage innovation.
